BH Cosmetics Haul/Review, Mehron HD foundation & Primers

I apologize for the lack of posts, but my seasonal job is almost over & I'm severely tired. I've made many hauls over the past month- some good, some bad. I am thrilled September has arrived, I love Fall! Pumpkin Spice anyone?

..........

I purchased the Mehron Celebre HD foundation + powder. the colour I purchased for the foundation was far to light, so I purchased a medium shade which is far better (the powder, however, is just terrible- not worth a review yet, I'm testing it out- but it has a very odd texture)

I apologize for the use on this one, but I tried it straight away after purchasing. It looks like I used a lot, but I really haven't- that dent formed very quickly :(

I'll being doing a comparison post soon, but the foundation is nothing to special, which is a bummer- don't get me wrong, its nice- but not amazing (its actually kinda greasy, but it has a decent coverage)

.......

Moving on, I absolutely love BH cosmetics. I find myself reaching for many of their products, and I always get my orders within 1 week, which is fast compared to other companies. I've seen many Youtube Guru's use the 10 Colour Concealer palette, and I was curious. I have many concealers, so purchasing more wouldn't hurt :)

I purchased the palette for $9.00 + shipping & I was so excited to try it out. I was worried the concealers would be greasy, but the texture of these is wonderful- they are blendable, creamy & cover very well. I am so happy I purchased this, I use all the lighter shades in the palette, + the orange shade for under the eyes (great for covering any blue-ish veins) .... I prefer these over my MAC concealers, and I am not affiliated with BH cosmetics- I just seem to be having great luck with their products. This is also a great kit for freelance MUA's as their are many shades!

I figured out the reason for my excessive oily skin issue this past Summer was due to not using my Clarisonic. I didn't use it for almost 2 months, I was so tired from being overworked I just didn't care. Within a week of using it, my oily became less severe- but I still am on the hunt for a Holy Grail primer. I recently purchased the Nurturing Force 'Blot out Offensive' primer. I used it once, and hated it. It made my foundation very hard to blend, and it made my powder go on strange. I figured I was using it wrong. I'm testing it out differently by applying it before moisturising, or making sure I have moisturised enough and applying it after. I haven't been out long enough to see if it makes a difference, but I'm almost done work for the Season, so then I'll have more of a social life :P haha

As you can see, its a creamy consistency. It almost feels like a lotion, but it settles into the skin quickly. I find it almost makes my skin too matte. I'm still experimenting with it though.

I also purchased Milk of Magnesia, which is a hit on Youtube. Many Guru's say its a very good primer for oily skin. I found out it can mess up the PH balance in your skin, so I decided to only use it for special occasions. I found that it made me foundation go on, and look really nice- but I wasn't out long enough to justify if it was heaven sent. I have a few more primers arriving that I can't wait to try- I also ordered something called the 'Mehron No Sweat Skin Prep' from a website called Makeup Mania. I don't have am issue with sweat, maybe slightly in the summer, but I figured I would give it a try. I find that makeup on my forehead simply doesn't last, after only an hour, it looks like my foundation is separating and looks like little dots on the skin. it looks gross, and I even got bangs because of this issue. I've been testing different products to set my foundation on my forehead, and of course primers- I want it to stop. This does not happen to the rest of my face, so why the forehead? if anyone has dealt with this & fixed it, please leave a comment.

I have various hauls arriving, and can't wait! I made a huge Elf purchase when they had a 50% off studio items.

Till next time my cherry drops ;)

Update + Elf & BH Cosmetics Haul

Hello everyone :)

I have been really neglecting this blog, and I finally want to put up a post, and update my blog more often.

Its been a hectic few months. I have been dealing with slight depression & anxiety lately. I often wouldn't talk about being depressed, but it seems since I had my Birthday in June, that its been getting worse. Most of my depression is due to working 6 days a week (long hours to) & always feeling tired & sore. Also, there's been a major heat wave here in B.C & being sensitive to to the sun, I've been dealing with headaches & skin that breaks out into a rash. I've tried to keep positive, but many days- I often don't want to go out due to being so tired. My boyfriend has been wonderful throughout, but not my family- as depression isn't real according to them, which is very annoying to struggle with. Anyhow, my boyfriend is going up North for work in August, which is going to be so tough- but I'll be able to blog more, as I'll have more free time.

Ok, sad stuff out of the way- now onto some recent hauls!

after falling in love with my last Brush Haul from BH cosmetics, I decided to purchase a few more brushes. I have been using them for about a week, and so far they are all great! I admit I reach for them more then my MAC brushes, which I wish that I had never purchased (mostly the face brushes) since they are just average, and cost a hell of a lot more then the BH Cosmetics Brushes. for example, I could never contour correctly with any of my brushes from MAC, but the BH Cosmetics Fan Brush is amazing for contouring the whole face. Here's a picture of my latest haul from BH

I can honestly say that I love every brush, and they all have great uses. I'll do a more in depth review on these once I've had them for awhile.

Next, I decided to purchase some products from Elf, which is a brand I love- so inexpensive, and some items are fabulous for such a cheap price.

The wrinkle refiner is pretty cool, it fills in pores & makes them disappear, but the effect doesn't last.

I love this powder, it brightens your face & under eyes instantly.

I have never tried a bent liner brush, & I wish I would have sooner- this is fabulous for getting the perfect 'flick' each time.

  . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I'm very happy with my purchases, & made a few more hauls. Not sure if anyone has noticed, but my love of MAC & high end makeup has dwindled down. I simply found most products to be average, and I decided to be more weary of what I spend my hard earned money on. The only thing I ever reach for from MAC is my Eyeshadow Palettes, but that's about it.

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

Quick BH Cosmetics Brush Haul/Review

Hello Lovies!

2 weeks ago, BH cosmetics was having a sale (as they usually do) and I decided to pick up some brushes. My MAC brushes honestly don't wow me to much- when it comes to face brushes, I enjoy drugstore brands (IE: Real Techniques/Elf) anywho- I have never owned a Fan Brush, so I decided to purchase one, as well as a Countour Brush. The Fan brush was $7.00 and the Contour Brush $5.00- cannot really beat that price!

Both arrived with brush guards, which the Fan Brush needs very much- it arrived with frayed out bristles, but the 24 hours with the brush guard brought it back into shape. I tried the Contour Brush right away.

When it comes to contouring/blush- I have my bad & good days. So many Youtube Guru's & Makeup Artists place a contour differently, as well as blush. I finally came up with my own technique I prefer. However, I found my brushes where applying all my blushes splotchy- which was because of bristles. This problem happened with so many brushes.... except the BH Cosmetics Contour Brush! I love it! even looking colour that doesn't need to be fixed.

I still haven't found use for the Fan Brush, but I'll be experimenting with it within the next few days with highlighting.

Highly rec. these brushes! I would like to purchase more, but I have plenty of brushes.

I'm working on more posts due to so much rain, & since I can't do much work when it rains I've been having shorter days-

xx

New Holy Grail Products! Featuring Elf & NARS

So the last 2 months, I have found some wonderful new products that have become staples in my routine. My first rave has to be, drumroll please................... Elf's Clarifying pressed powder, that only costs one fricken dollar! Seriously, this is the best setting powder I have every tried, it leaves my Studio Fix Powder & Chanel Loose powder in the dust. The colour Ivory has the perfect yellow undertone that matches me perfectly. I honestly purchased it for fun, and figured I wouldn't lose anything if it didn't work. I tried it out one day, and was amazed. Before ordering more, I waited throughout the day to see the lasting powder- with a primer + a little bit Kryolan's Anti-Shine powder, my skin looked wonderful for 8 hours. And let me tell you, when I needed to touch up after all that time, it was only my T-Zone slightly, and this powder did not look all disgusting & cakey when using it to touch up (which Studio Fix can do)

Another great product I fell in love with is the Brow Kit in Ash. Its by far the lightest brow product I have tried, it suits my Platinum hair perfectly, without looking harsh at all.

I purchased it in light as well, which is more red then light- I gave it to my friend & she loves it to.

I also picked up the Brow Sets in Light & Ash. Both come with a tinted gel & clear gel- however, I don't really reach for them, but the quality is great! I plan on making a huge order soon.

Lastly, I fell head over heels in love with the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation! where has this been all my life? the coverage is superb, it covers without looking cakey, and the lasting power is wonderful. It works so well with the Elf powder, both create a wonderful finish. My shade is Deauville, I also purchased Gobi recently, but its a tad light- I like using Gobi as a highlight under the eyes.

I hope you guy enjoyed this post, in other news I finally found the Maybelline Shine Free foundation in Nude on eBay! I was so happy & purchased it. I have yet to try it out, but I cannot wait. I don't have many makeup hauls arriving. Just some clothing. Hope all of you are doing great!

Update, Makeup, & Great Glam sucks!

Hey Peeps!

I cannot believe it has be 2 months since I blogged. Its been a very hectic time for me. I started up my seasonal job & I was so happy that I was getting salary this year (as there's no guessing, since my hours where always unpredictable) .... however, I'm stuck working 6 days a week! so I'm usually really tired, and barely have time to go out, eat or even put makeup on. I purchased quite a few things the last 2 months, found some new amazing Holy Grail worthy products (from Elf & NARS!)

Unfortunately, my favourite place to purchase clothing from ( Great Glam ) decided that they no longer want my business. A few months back ( I even blogged about this ) I didn't receive 3 packages, so since I made the purchases thru Paypal, I opened claims. I tried contacting Great Glam, but they're customer service just told me the packages where on their way. So I did what was my obvious right, I opened claims & I won each case. meanwhile, I was ordering more items until a few days ago- they refunded 2 orders I made, without reason.

I contacted them, and the next day got an email stating that because of a chargebacks (IE: refunds) on my account, they could no longer fulfill my orders. WTF? I was so angry, so I contacted customer service & explained that it was my right to open claims- I apologized but they kept repeating that it was their 'policy' to take away ordering rights- apparently my claims messed up their business. I find that hard to believe, as people on their Facebook page would often say that items weren't received & that they would open claims- not anywhere does it say on the Great Glam site that this is their policy, not did they ever mention while I spoke to them thru Paypal that my claims would result in this mess. The manager told me they dont even have to publicly post that information- UM, then how are people to know about your stupid policy? they said 'you should have talked to us, & we could have helped you' ...I did, I communicated with them thru Paypal!  It took them 3 months to start taking away my ordering rights. I also opened another claim with them about 6 days ago, turns out my neighbour got my package in the adjacent mailbox kept for larger parcels & simply didn't look at who the package was for. She came to my house & gave my parcel back apologizing- no big deal, I removed the claim & 2 days later got that response.

Whew- needless to say, I was so upset. I love most of their clothing & they just didn't give a shit. I had no idea companies could take rights away like that, this is 2013 for gods sake. I hate how they couldn't handle giving back refunds, what was I suppose to do? let them keep my money & not get over $300 worth of clothes?! I spent so much money with them the last 3 years, I'm kicking myself for even ordering with them at all. I mean, what kind of company uses Paypal as a checkout option, but doesn't abide by the rules?! Paypal couldn't even help me, they agreed it was a ridiculous rule- even told Great Glam my account is is excellent standing, but they didn't care. I honestly don't give a shit anymore, my account is in excellent standing because I'm an honest customer- if I don't get my stuff, and a company refuses to help me, I will get my money back.

.............................................................

I'm so sorry, I just had to get that off my chest. I've had my friends tell me I can just order with them using my boyfriends Credit Card, but I don't even want to deal with them ever again. After some google searching, I found even better places then Great Glam for clothing, websites that even have a sale section & coupon codes daily + a flat rate shipping fee.

Moving on, I'm hoping to get some posts up about some new favourite products soon- I have pictures, but no energy to label them & edit. One of my best friends, pretty much my Sister- is moving next week, so I'm pretty sad about that as well. I hope to get back into blogging soon.

I hope all of you are doing good!

Quick Hard Candy Haul!

Hi Peeps!

As mentioned in my last Post, I purchased a few things from Hard Candy that I have been loving. I want to go back & purchase a few more items.

I have been searching for the discontinued Fire Alarm shade of lipstick online, but no one is selling it- the other shades, yes- but not Fire Alarm. I don't know why Hard Candy discontinued those lippies! I miss that shade so much, it was the perfect nude lipstick. If anyone knows where I can purchase it, please let me know!

XOXO

Update + BH Cosmetics Haul + upcoming Posts!

Hi everyone!

Its been a bit of a hectic month for me. I had the flu, then I started working a few days here & there- however it started to rain non-stop for 3 weeks, so I had to stop working (I work outside at a Golf Course) then I got sick. I'm glad I'm almost feeling better. I didn't even upload any pictures on my computer in that time frame.

I only had one haul arrive in the mail from BH Cosmetics. I usually have stuff coming in the mail weekly, but I decided to calm down a bit with the online shopping. Unfortunately a few purchases I made never even arrived, and I had to open 4 claims on Paypal! luckily, I won all 4 cases- but I was bummed that I never got my stuff. Needless to say, I kind of got turned off from buying stuff online for awhile.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Anywho, enough rambling. I finally decided to buy a few things online. I really like my BH Cosmetics Party Girl Palette, so I decided to order the Day & Night Palette + the BH Cosmetics liquid foundation. Even though MAC has my heart when it comes to eyeshadows, I like how the BH palettes have tons of bright colours. I don't feel like making a MAC Palette with bright eyeshadows because I rarely reach for them + I already have two MAC Palettes. I have popped out the inserts, so I have 21 eyeshadows in each + the MAC shadows I have that aren't in my palettes.

Here are some photo's!

I like the Day & Night Palette, but I haven't reached for it much. I also have to say the liquid foundation is just plain awful. It feels like a greasy moisturiser, and provided no coverage- it also smells like dish soap. Luckily, it only cost $5.00 - The foundation is ok when mixed with another foundation, but its not worth the trouble to me. I think these will be my last BH cosmetics purchases.

I have a Hard Candy Haul coming up! I went shopping with my friend last week, and I bought a few things. I rarely go to Wal-Mart, but I was happy to find some new products from Hard Candy. I was upset when they discontinued their lipsticks with the ribbon on the end, the ' Fire Alarm ' lipstick was a Holy Grail for me! I wish I would have stocked up on it before it was taken off shelves. I also have an Ebay Purchase (its a NARS product!) and few other makeup purchases I'm excited to share with you. I also ordered coloured contacts! I'm so excited to see how they end up looking.

I hope all of you have a great weekend!

XO

MAC Full Coverage Foundation, Prep + Prime Lip Haul/Review + Real Techniques Brush Haul!

Since MAC started carrying Pro products on the regular site, I was so excited to try a few products. I'm in love with my Chromaline in 'Black Black' so much so, that I sometimes use it on my waterline more then my Feline or Smolder Eye Kohls- and it lasts all day!

Anywho, I really wanted to purchase the Full Coverage Foundation. I heard many reviewers say its basically like the Studio Finish Concealer, simply in larger packaging. I have to say that it is similar, but I find it far more blendable.

I have used it everyday since purchasing. I like to mix it with my Make Up Forever HD foundation, which I never liked. The two create a gorgeous finish! and I barely need any of the Full Coverage foundation to get amazing coverage. I like blending out this foundation with my Elf Flat Top Powder Brush, or my Real Techniques expert face brush.

I highly recommend this product. Its wonderful :) My next purchase will most likely be the Pure White Paint Stick.

Im really excited about my next MAC purchase. The MAC Prep + Prime lip is a must have! I cannot believe I didn't try this sooner! this product makes my lipstick & gloss last for hours. I normally just wear lipstick, because gloss literally disappears of my lips in 15 minutes, and eats up my lipstick in the process. When primed with this, my lipgoss stayed put, and no pigmentation was lost. I also had troubles with my lipstick staying on, I would always have to reapply- not with this baby!

LOVE!

Lastly, I received my Real Techniques setting brush. I have yet to test this out, but I can tell it will be great for setting the undereye area with my Ben Nye banana powder. I think I'll purchase the stippling brush next. I adore all of my RT brushes. I actually might purchase more then just a stippling brush.

I might go on a Makeup 'no buy' for awhile. I can't help it though, I just love trying new products!

Unfortunately, I'm starting my seasonal job a bit later this year then expected, so I'll have to budget out a bit until then. No worries, it'll give me an excuse to shop my stash :)

XOXO

MAC Archie's Girls & Viva Glam Nicki 2 Haul (Pic Heavy)

I was really excited for the MAC Archie's Girls collection. I used to read them all the time when I was thirteen, and I thought the collection would be cute. MAC did a really good job with the packaging, it was well made and crisp looking. I felt they rushed a bit with the Marilyn Monroe collection- Marilyn's image was so grainy. Luckily the image on the Archie's Girls packaging is really clear. The next day, the Viva Glam Nicki 2 arrive online, and I thought I would try it out. I don't own a lipstick like this at all, so I thought it would be fun to try some shades.

Here are some product photos.

I have yet to test out the products fully, so I don't have much of an opinion yet. I cannot wait to start using them in some FOTD's. All the colours are very pastel, and what I could tell from swatching was that the products (aside from the Viva Glam) are not overly pigmented.

Did you pick anything up from this collection?

XOXO

Quick Real Techniques Brush Purchases!

As you can tell, I'm really loving Real Techniques Brushes. So much so, that I ordered 2 more Expert Face Brushes and the Blush Brush.

This is seriously the best brush I have ever used!

I have to test this one out, but the bristles are really soft. I personally think this is a little flimsy for blush, but I can see it being perfect for contouring and loose powders.

. . . . . . .

I have a MAC haul coming up that I'm very excited to share, and I purchased a MAC Pro Foundation that I'm also very excited to get- its the Full Coverage Foundation.

Have a great weekend!

XOXO

Sigma Brushes, BH Cosmetics Palettes, Ebay & Great Glam Purchases!

A few weeks ago, I received some Sigma & BH Cosmetics Items. I was really excited about the items I purchased since I heard wonderful things on Youtube about them.

I purchased the Sigma E60 Large Shader Brush & The E65 Angled Brush. I adore the angled brush for winging out eyeliner, whether dramtic or subtle. Its become a staple brush for me.

The Large shader brush was also a good purchase, but I still haven't found something I use it consistently for. I like it for blending eyeshadow near the inner corners of the eyes for an evened out look, but I have other brushes for that. Perhaps I have to use it for longer, but its been almost 3 weeks since I purchased it, and it hasn't wowed me. Perhaps Ill use it for something on the face.

That being said, I have been happy with my Sigma Purchases so far!

 . . . . . . . .

I noticed that some of the Beauty Gurus on Youtube have been using BH Cosmetics items lately. I have seen many reviews/tutorials with the Party Girl Palette, and the Blush & Contour Palette. I purchased both when BH Cosmetics was having a sale a few weeks back, and I only paid $22.00 for both, which is a pretty sweet deal. I had a coupon code as well.

I have been using this palette for only 2 weeks, so I cannot give an in depth review of it yet. I still haven't used all of the colors. So far though, the colors I have used are very decently pigmented, and blendable to. They are slightly powdery, but not enough to be bothersome. I've seen the other palettes BH Cosmetics carry on Ebay, I believe BH Cosmetics just slaps their name onto the 120 palettes shimmer/matte E/S Palettes. I would suggest getting those on Ebay, they don't appeal to me though. I have enough eyeshadow as is.

I have a bit of a love/hate thing going on the with the Contour & Blush Palette. The contour and highlighting shades are amazing! I adore them, and use them all daily. The blushes are another story- unfortunately I find them a little blotchy, and I find myself having to apply one of my MAC blushes over them to fix them up. That being said, I wish they strictly had a palette for contouring, as I have a ton of go-to MAC Blushes.

Unlike the 120 Palettes, I have yet to see the Party Girl Palette & the Contour/Blush Palette on Ebay. I have even seen products that Coastal Scents carry on Ebay for wayyy cheaper. So if you want a better deal, check out Ebay. The only thing your paying for with other companies is the label they are smacking on inexpensive palettes, and upping the price.

Off topic, I was at the Dollar Giant picking up some chocolate lol and stumbled upon LA Colors products. They are sold on CherryCulture.com- and I've been curious about them. Everything was only $1.25

I purchased two loose eyeshadow pigments-

. . . . . . . .

I also made my weekly Great Glam Haul. I'm proud to say that I didn't purchase anything from them this week :) Nothing really appealed to me this time. Also, for the first time in the 3 years I have been ordering with them, I got slapped with a customs fee! it was pricey to. I always get my order in my mail box with no customs at all, but not this time. I'm dreading my next 2 orders arriving. I made them before I even knew I would get charged. I'm hoping I don't get more, but if I do then I wont be ordering with then anymore, its just not worth it.

Here's what I got last week-

I also purchased this adorable shirt from Ebay!

After it arrived, I fell in love. I ordered one in White, and one that has Stripes. They only carry this up to a size 6 and the fit is perfect for me. I might purchase this in Pink, Black & Grey as well.

I have a few purchases that I cannot wait to share.

Hope all of you have a great week-

XOXO
